Birthday Celebration in Oregon

This past weekend, our little family traveled to Oregon to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday and my Grandpa Jack's 90th Birthday. They are amazing people that are still doing well and living life to its fullest. We drove 8 hours to Baker City Oregon where my aunt, uncle, and my cousins all live. We had so much fun being with family! We ate good food, had a birthday party, went bowling and visited a small town called Sumpter that had a flea market going on. I was excited for Jet to meet more of his family. It was cool to see all of us there; what my grandparents started when they got married, had children, and their children had children, now those children have children, and the legacy continues! The top pic is a group of us bowling, then two pictures of Jet crossing the border into Idaho and Oregon, then a pic of the grandparents with their great grandchildren. The last picture is a 4 generation picture with my Grandmother, Dad, me and Jet, so fun!

Mother's Day

I realize Mother's Day was a couple of weeks ago, but I just got one of my gifts today. I was excited to celebrate or I guess be celebrated for the first official time in my life. I had a great day, I mean everyday is really mother's day anyway. Jet got me some flowers, Almond Roca, and some headbands, he is so sweet to me. I also got a silver necklace with Jet's name and birthday on it. When more kids come I can add their charms to the necklace.
My thoughts on mother's day were of gratitude. The other night I was watching and playing with Jet and just thinking of how much I love him, want the best for him, and just have such hope that he will do great things in his life. In my mind I changed Jet for myself and myself for my mom. I thought about how much care and love she must have given me from the very beginning and those same feelings of love she felt and feels for me I now feel for my own child. That someone would feel those things for me and take so much time to care for me makes me feel grateful. I don't think I had any understanding of the sacrifice and power of a mother's love until I became a mother.

Provo Tower

James has really been into aviation lately and as part of an aviation club here in Spanish Fork, we were able to get a tour of the Provo tower at the Provo airport. We took Jet with us and it was pretty cool to see how air traffic controllers work and I was surprised at how low tech it was. They didn't have a radar or computer screen to track the planes, just a magnetic white board.
